SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Two days of emergency repair on guardrail that was recently damaged on two short sections of northbound and southbound Highway 17 near Scotts Valley will take place on Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15, Caltrans officials have announced.

Details are as follows:

Tuesday, June 14, Northbound Hwy. 17 from Spanish Bit Chapel to Glenwood Drive north of Scotts Valley:

  • Closure of #2 (right) lane from 10 am to 2 pm; ½-mile section.
  • One lane will remain open at all times.

Wednesday, June 15, Southbound Hwy. 17 from Granite Creek Road to Mt. Hermon/Glen Canyon in Scotts Valley:

  • Closure of the #2 (right) lane from 8 am to 1 pm; 2-mile section.
  • One lane will remain open at all times.

The purpose of the work is to repair a recently hit and damaged guardrail. Motorists can expect delays of 15-20 minutes. An electronic message board will be activated to advise the travelers of this roadwork.
