Northbound #2 (right) lane and on-ramp closed on Highway 1 at Rio Del Mar in Aptos this Saturday 6:30 am to 12 noon

A one-day emergency guardrail repair project will take place on northbound Highway 1 near Rio Del Mar in Aptos, this Saturday, Feb. 24, Caltrans officials have announced.

Roadwork will consist of closing the #2 (right) lane of northbound Hwy. 1 at Rio Del Mar on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 6:30 am until 12 noon in order to accommodate the guardrail replacement. The northbound Rio Del Mar on-ramp will also be closed. This roadwork is necessary to maintain the safety of all travelers.

Northbound motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes. Electronic message boards will be posted to alert motorists of this roadwork and the CHP will be present to assist with traffic control. This roadwork is being performed by the Santa Cruz South Maintenance and Monterey Guardrail crews.
