Mudslide SB 17 at Sugarloaf Rd

Update 2:30 pm 2/13/19:

The southbound lanes of Highway 17 are closed at Sugarloaf Road due to mud on the roadway.  Motorists are using the turn out to by-pass this closed area.

Caltrans will close the northbound No. 1 (left Lane) at Sugarloaf Road to facilitate moving equipment to this location for a cleanup operation.

This section of highway is expected to re-open by 6 pm, weather permitting. Please check the Cruz511 map or Caltrans Current Conditions page for updated conditions.

Santa Cruz County, S-17 at Sugarloaf road, the right lane is blocked due to a mudslide.  The left lane is open to traffic.  Motorists are advised to expect delays and to use alternate routes.  As of 2 pm 2/13/19, there is no estimated time of opening.  Please check the Cruz511 map or Caltrans Current Conditions page for updated conditions.
