Update #1
Laurel Road residents will be able to use Northbound Hwy 17. (2/25/17)

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Both northbound lanes of Hwy. 17 from Glenwood Drive to Sugarloaf Rd. will be closed, while a traffic switch takes place on the southbound lanes to allow both directions of travel at this location during the overnight hours beginning, Saturday, Feb. 25 through Friday, March 3 from 6 pm until 5 am.

The northbound closure of both Hwy. 17 lanes is necessary to allow for equipment and installation of micro piles which are used as a structural reinforcement to the highway.

The southbound Hwy. 17 lanes between Glenwood Drive and Sugarloaf Rd. will have a traffic switch which allows one lane to travel in each direction during the overnight hours, beginning, Saturday night, Feb. 25 through Friday, March 3 from 6 pm until 5 am.

Electronic message boards will be activated to advise travelers about this upcoming roadwork. Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 15 minutes. This roadwork will be performed by the Case Pacific Company of Paso Robles, CA.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones. For lane closure information on this project and for traffic updates on other Caltrans projects in Santa Cruz County, residents can call the District 5 toll free number at 1-831-423-0396.
