Last updated July 8, 2019 at 8:52 am | Posted July 5, 2019 at 2:20 pm

Whispering Pines Closed at Estrella & Baja Sol Dr in Scotts Valley

UPDATE 7/5/19 4:30 pm: Whispering Pines Drive shall remain closed from Estrella to Baja Sol. PG&E crews will be on site until approximately midnight to replace a power pole which was sheared off at the base when a vehicle left the road and collided with it. For more updates see Scotts Valley Police Department Facebook page.

UPDATE 7/5/19 2 pm: ** PG&E is on scene. Service to the impacted area has been turned off – so residents are no longer requested to shelter in place. Whispering Pines is closed between Estrella Dr and Baja Sol Dr and will remain closed until this matter is resolved which could take a few hours.**

Scotts Valley residents should avoid Whispering Pines Drive between the 700-900 block until further notice due to a power pole down in the roadway.

The Scotts Valley Police Department responded to a vehicle accident involving a truck into a power pole. Officers arrived on scene and located a power pole and transformer down across the roadway of Whispering Pines Dr and possible live wires. SV Police requested SV Fire Dept to respond to the scene. Once Fire arrived they determined that the power lines in the area are compromised and are requesting residents to shelter in place until PG&E can respond. The neighborhood may experience a power outage and Whispering Pines Dr will be closed until this matter has been resolved.

Instructions:

Avoid Whispering Pines Dr between Estrella Dr and Baja Sol Dr for road closure. Residents are no longer encouraged to shelter in place because PG&E cut power to the impacted lines. Road closure will remain in place for an unknown time period.
