Final Work For Slipout Repair In Brookdale Includes Lane Closures During the Weeks Of September 3 and September 17
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY– Caltrans is conducting lane closures on Hwy. 9 at the Brookdale slip-out (near the Brookdale Inn) to complete the asphalt concrete (AC) and deck grinding on Thursday, Sept. 6 from 9 am to 5 pm. Please expect up to 30-minute delays for this work.
Striping, signage work and final site cleanup will occur during the week of Sept. 17th with dates and work hours to be announced next week. Motorists will encounter minimal delays.
The purpose of this construction project is to repair the slip out from last winter by constructing a soldier pile wall and side hill viaduct. The first phase and second phases of the project to build the viaduct structure have been completed. The final phase of the project will include paving, striping, deck grinding and temporary signal removal, and is estimated to be complete by mid-September.
