A primarily overnight culvert lining and concrete ditch reconstruction project at the Route 1/152 separation in Watsonville begins Tuesday, Aug. 30, Caltrans officials announced today.
Roadwork details are as follows:
Lane Closures
- 7 pm to 6 am–Monday through Thursday (Friday morning)
- 9 pm to 6 am—Sunday through Monday (morning)
Shoulder Closures
- Right shoulder on lane, left shoulder on intersection ramp
- 9 am to 1 pm—Monday through Thursday
NOTE: There will be electronic message boards alerting motorists of lane and shoulder closures. Up to 10-minute traffic delays are expected. Slowing on local streets approaching work zone is also possible.
The purpose of this project is to improve stormwater runoff by lining the existing culvert and reconstructing the concrete ditch.
The contractor for this $70,000 construction project is Graniterock from Watsonville, CA and Conley General Engineering of Santa Cruz. Roadwork for entire project is scheduled to be complete by the end of September.
